メイクマンにお買い物に行ったときにふと目についたのがこれ。
メイクマンが発行するフリーペーパーでした。
なんかカーサブルータスとかそんな感じのおしゃれな表紙でびっくり！
内容は表紙にある通り植物ネタ中心にDIY関係。
読んでいると俄然DIY熱が盛り上がる感じでした。編集者さんの狙い通りですね。
DIYと言えば、日本のホームセンターにあるペンキって色数が少なすぎないですか?
イギリスのホームセンターやそれこそ小さな町の金物店にも塗料の色味を調合してくれる機械があり、カタログで選んだ色をお店でマシーンがちゃちゃっと作ってくれていました。
カタログには何種類もの色味本が載ってあり、微妙な色合いの色味もちゃちゃっと作ってくれていたので、あれが日本にもあればなぁって心の底から望んでいます。

When I went shopping at Makeman, I suddenly noticed this.
It was a free paper published by Makeman.
I was surprised at the stylish cover, which looked like something from Casa Brutus or something like that!
The contents were mainly DIY-related, with a focus on plants, as shown on the cover.
When I read it, I suddenly felt the DIY fever rising. That's exactly what the editor was aiming for.
Speaking of DIY, aren't there too few paint colours in Japanese home centres?
Outside of Japan, even small-town hardware shops have machines that mix paint colours, and the machine in the shop makes the colours you choose from the catalogue in a jiffy.
The catalogue contained a number of different colour books, and they were able to quickly create subtle shades of colour, so I really wish we had something like that in Japan.
I heard that Nippon Paint Co. has acquired the paint company Dulux, which also has this machine, so please, Nippon Paint, make this machine standard equipment in all DIY shops in Japan! I'm seriously thinking of writing a letter?
