一言で沖縄といっても八重山地区は沖縄本島と気候風土がちがいます。
一番の違いは湿度かな？
沖縄本島に遊びに行ったときに、石垣島の湿度は沖縄本島より高いなぁと改めて感じました。
最近はずーっと、エアコンや除湿機フル回転です。
午後の西日が入ってくる時間帯になると22.5度にしても全然効かなーい！
普通のエアコンより容量の大きい200ボルト電源なんですが〜
The climate of Yaeyama is different fro that of the main island of Okinawa, even though Yaeyama is a part of Okinawa.
The biggest difference is the humidity.
When I went to Okinawa main island, I felt again that the humidity in Ishigaki is higher than Okinawa main island.
Recently, we have been using air conditioners and dehumidifiers all the time, 24/7.
In the afternoon, when the sun is coming from the west, even if I set the temperature to 22.5 degrees, it doesn't work at all! The power supply is 200v, which is bigger than normal 100v.
エアコンは止めてしまうと急に湿度が上昇してしまうので止められません！
我が家では24時間稼働中〜電気代は真夏だとひと月2万2千円くらいかかってます。冬場の2月くらいは六千円くらいです。
本土に住んでいるときは24時間エアコン稼働なんて考えもしなかったけど、今やこれが普通です。夜中じゅうエアコンかけてても喉が痛くならなくなった、なんでだろう？湿度が高いから?
We can't turn off the air conditioner, because if we do, the humidity will suddenly rise.
The electricity bill is about 22000 yen a month in the middle of summer and about 6000 yen in February, during the winter.
When I lived in the mainland, I never thought of running the air conditioner 24h a day, but now this is the normal. I don't get a sore throat anymore even when the air conditioning is on all night, why is that?! Because of the high humidity?
窓を開けると湿気を含んだ重たい風が一気に室内に流れ込んでくるのを感じることができます。
When I open the window, I can feel the heavy humid air flowing into the room.
なんでそんなに湿気を気にするかと言うと…カビです！
もーーーーカビ大っ嫌い。
ちょっとビニールに入れたままお野菜置いておくとすぐカビが忍び寄りダメにしてしまいます。
革製品にカビが生えてしまいます！（気を付けているのでこれはまだやってない）
布製品にもカビが生えてしまいます！（布製スニーカーにカビが生えました）
The reason whey I care so much about humidity is ...mould!
I hate moulds.
If I leave my vegetables in a plastic bag for a while, mould will creep in and ruin them.
It can grow on leather goods (ex, bag, belt, boots, shoes)...I'm so careful I havent' doe this yet.
Mildew can grow on fabric! (my fabric trainers got mouldy.)
ちなみに私は集合住宅の4階に住んでいますが、このところ湿気がすごいです。
戸建や低層階の住宅に住んでいる方に聞くともっと被害は深刻そうです。
対策として---
１．大切なものは除湿剤を入れたジップロックに入れる。+高いところに収納。
お気に入りのブーツ(石垣島で出番はありませんが持ってきてしまったので…)、革靴、革カバンは絶対守りたい！と言うことで除湿剤を入れてジップロック型の収納袋に入れて部屋の高いところに収納しています。
２．除湿専門の除湿機を回す。
これは室温が高くなってしまうのがネックです。エアコンに負担をかけてしまう〜電気代が上がる〜
と言うことでメインはエアコンの除湿を利用、除湿機はサブ利用です。
I livbe on the 4th floor of an apartment and the dampness has been very bad especially during summer.
People who live in houses or on lower floors say that the problem is much worse.
As a countermeasure.....
1. put important things in a ziplock with dehumidifer. store them in a high place in the room.
2. turn on the dehumidifre machine all the time.
The problem with this is that it makes the room temperature higher. So I mainly use the dehumidifre function of the air conditioner and the dehumidifier machine is used as a sub.
さらに、湿気が高いことで思い出したのが
エアコンクリーニング必須です。
本土に住んでいる頃は、あまり気にしたことがなかったのですが、エアコンをヘビーユーズするようになって気になり始めたのがエアコン内部のカビです。去年の冬、エアコンをずっと回し続けていたタイミングでエアコンからポタポタと水が落ちてきたことがありました。
なぜだろうとエアコン内部を観察していると真っ黒な黒カビが奥のほうに発見されました。ぎゃっ！
どうやら湿度の高い石垣島ではエアコン内部の水分が乾燥する暇がなく、そこに黒カビ+ほこりが蓄積するようです。
そしてそのカビたちがエアコンを使用することによって室内に拡散！(飛んでるところは目には見えないけど)
変なにおいがするなぁと思ったらエアコンクリーニングをお勧めします。
ということで、エアコンクリーニングは石垣島では結構メジャーです。でも高いんですよね〜普通のシンプルな機能のエアコン掃除代金は6000円～7000円
、フィルター掃除機能の付いているエアコンだと一気にクリーニング代が12,000円位〜になります。
自分できれいに掃除できる気がしないし、黒カビの空気を吸うのは嫌だから経費だと思って割り切るようにしていますが、何でそんなに高いのと責められツライですw
追記…先日エアコンクリーニングを業者の人にやってもらいました。
きれいになって気持ちが良いのは確かなのですが、エアコンの効きが悪くなったような気がしています。実際のところどうなんだろう??計測しようがありません…
Additionally,
Air conditioner cleaning is must in Ishiagki. probably once a year.
When I was living in the mainland of Japan, I never paid much attention to it, but when I started to use the air conditioner heavily, I started worry about the mould inside the air conditioner. Last winter, when I was running the air conditioner, water started to fall from the air conditioner for some reasons.
I wondered why, and when I observed the inside of the air conditioner, I found a black mold in the back, grosssss.
It seemed that in humid Ishigaki island, the moisture inside the air conditioner doesn't have no time to dry out and black mold+ dust accumulate there.
And those molds spread in the room by using the air conditioner. you can't see them flying though.
If you think you have a strange smell, I recommend you to get professional cleaning.
Air conditioner cleaning is quite popular in Ishigaki, but it's expensive....
6000 - 7000 yen for a normal/simple air conditioner.
12000 yen for a multifunctional air conditioner.
I paid a contractor a lot of money to do the work for me because I wasn't confident enough to do it myself.
